STEP 1:

Check Compatibility

Our Complete Cover Set includes the front cover, back plate, and brackets. It does not include ends, connectors, or corners. Many customers need to combine covers for longer lengths so we do not include the ends with a cover set. Select and count the accessories you will need for each element.

baseboard heat boiler unit
Is your heating system water-heated copper pipe with fins that run throughout the home? Typically the hydronic boiler terminates with pipes, located in a garage or basement. (Electric or steam systems not compatible)
measure baseboard heat element fins
Measure your fins from the wall to front of fins. Measurement can be anything less than 3” deep. Chat with us below for more instructions if fins are 3" or deeper.

If you answered yes to both, your system is compatible and you can replace your covers with Cover Luxe.

STEP 2:

Measure Cover Lengths

Cover Luxe baseboard covers are sold in 2-foot, 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot lengths. They can be combined with Snap Cap Connectors for longer lengths, or they can be trimmed with a hack saw for smaller lengths. With Cover Luxe you can always achieve a custom fit. Measure the total length from the outside ends of your existing end caps. That is the new cover length.

STEP 3:

Identify End Cap Type

Cover Luxe offers two types of ends, one for when the pipe exits the floor and another for when a pipe exits the wall. Before ordering end caps, determine which type you will need for each element segment.

The most common configuration for pipes is to enter a room and exit a room through the floor. In this case, an End Cap Set will be the correct product.
When a pipe exits the wall, the end will need a pass-through. Our Snap Cap Connector functions as both a cover joiner and as a pass-through end cap.
Sometimes a pipe enters from the floor at oneend, and ends through a wall on the other end. In this instance you'll need both types of ends. End Caps are only sold as sets so you may end up with an extra End Cap.

Our Snap Cap, also referred to as a Snap Cap Connector can be used to combine two covers to create a longer cover. Or it can be used as a pass-through end cap when a pipe exits the wall.

Extra Brackets

Brackets are included with the Complete Cover Set, but we offer extra brackets in case of unique situations where a customer may prefer a sturdier install if brackets can’t be installed into studs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Measuring

What if the element measures 3" or slightly over?

Elements that are 3 inches or deeper are not very common and are considered "high-output" elements. Our covers are compatible, but you will have to press the fins back to create clearance. It's an easy process that we can explain if you will contact us in chat.

Does Cover Luxe offer cover sizes longer than the 8-foot?

Cover Luxe baseboard covers are designed to be combined for any length you need. You can combine any number of covers with a Snap Cap Connector and trim with a hack saw for a perfect fit every time.

Does the snap caps that come with the end cap set also work as a connector?

You cannot use the snaps that come with the end cap set instead of a connector because they are slightly different and won't seat properly as a joiner.

How many inches can you shave off the cover length when you're installing a corner?

You can safely order covers that are 2" shorter than the recommended cover length when covering an end with corners. If you need more guidance feel free to speak with us through chat.

What if a wall is square, but isn't a perfect 90-degrees?

Our 90-degree corners will only fit a square or nearly square wall.
